Christmas Memories

After  singing in the sixth-grade Christmas concert,
I trudged through the snow to Hebrew School
with guilt in my heart and carols in my ears.
I prayed Baruch atah Adonai
to drive Adeste fideles from my head.

Wendy Freborg is a retired social worker whose work has appeared in Right Hand Pointing, The Orchards Poetry Journal, Rat’s Ass Review, Misfit, and WestWard Quarterly. Her life includes one husband, one son, two grandchildren, enough friends, too many doctors, and not enough dogs. Her pleasures are her family, crossword puzzles, learning new things, and remembering old times.
