Bringing in the Harvest
In our hay day of dating
we brought our collected
bales of experience
from the trusting country boy
and the wary city girl
gave them a ride on your
zooming red motorcycle
into the winding
we flew over the pot-holed roads
where you showed me how
the air could change
in a split second
we went from warm updraft
to chilling undercurrents
we traveled the thrills
and the teases of the turnings
even after the bike was sold
to make room for the snow blower
and the cushioned lawn chairs
we continue to find new routes
to get to our flourishing
