Please submit no more than three (3) poems, for a total of no more than six (6) pages, to lochravenreviewpoetryeditor@gmail.com.
DO NOT embed your poems in the body of your email. PLEASE ATTACH YOUR POEMS IN A SINGLE WORD OR PDF FILE, with each new poem starting at the top of a new page. (Please note, our line space online and in our yearly printed volume is about 69-70 characters total, so longer lines may have to be broken to fit our format.)
DO NOT include images or photos of any kind in your submission.
Please use your submission email as your cover letter and include the titles of the poems you are submitting, your bio, and your contact information in the body of your submission email itself.
Poetry submissions will be accepted January 1, 2026 through January 31, 2026 only.

Submissions Guidelines:
Fiction and creative non-fiction submissions will be accepted now and end on March 15, 2026.
Prose, fiction, and non-fiction of up to 3,500 words will be considered, but we do not read attachments for submissions of them. Please paste your prose, fiction, or non-fiction submission into the body of an email if you want us to consider it for publication and send it to lochravenreviewsubmissions@gmail.com. Double-space all submissions in an easily readable font, such as Times New Roman.
Please send us your best work: up to three poems, one short story, one creative non-fiction piece, or one essay during each reading period. Books for review should be queried first. Please send the author’s name and the title of the book to lochravenrevieweditors@gmail.com.
The Loch Raven Review accepts only previously unpublished work. Simultaneous submissions are acceptable, but please let us know immediately if work has been accepted elsewhere for publication.
All submissions must include the author’s name, mailing address, phone number, and email address.
Email submissions only. In the subject of your email please specify the genre: poetry, fiction, or non-fiction, with the author’s last name. We will accept no more than one submission in each genre. We do not open email attachments for prose, fiction, and non-fiction submissions; paste your submission into the body of an email and send it to lochravenreviewsubmissions@gmail.com for consideration.
Please include an author’s bio that is no longer than 75 words.
The Loch Raven Review tries to respond to all submissions within a reasonable period of time. If a writer has not heard back from us in six weeks or longer, you may query us at lochravenrevieweditors@gmail.com. If the submission has been processed and the writer notified, please wait until the next reading period before resubmitting new work.
